ABOUT ME

WELCOME TO MY BLOG! HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME.

Compassion
Fun
Hard work
These are the top three adjectives that come to peoples' mind when thinking about me, and these are the values that drive me towards the greater good as a person and as a designer. Belonging from Kolkata - a city in India known for its cultural heritage, art and music - in other words the city of Joy, every available surface called for me like they wanted to get drawn upon. What started off as a stubborn kid's mode of entertainment with crayons on walls and squirmy lines on doors, was replaced by acrylics and oil paints on glass and canvasses, in the blink of an eye. As I grew up and refined my skills even more the urge to convey ubiquitous, inconspicuous messages through my art became second nature to me. As I slowly started understanding that imagery was more impactful and that it made a more lasting effect than language, I made it my preferred mode of communication. That is how I made my passion for art, and communication join hands to make the world a better place.

While I have been taught to be the voice of the voiceless or who's voices are just another echo, I have always found myself recognizing them and making them a significant part of my design process. As happy and content as working for them makes me feel, I am always down for change and ready to accept challenges because it only makes me more versatile. I have been lucky enough to work with organizations like Community Empowerment Lab and Lead By Design who have given me a platform to work for my preferred audience but I am and have been more than willing to use my skills to benefit other sectors of the society.

While painting is still my happy place and my source of comfort, design speaks more openly to me. The idea that painting is for the elite in a way whereas design speaks to a larger audience, binding people from all backgrounds together is the main reason behind me being more of a designer than a painter.

In conclusion, I, as an individual will only add more value with my hard work and zeal for my forte, while making it fun for my audience and surroundings, with compassion as my greatest strength.
